To new beginnings 🥂

Heyy there… I’m Melody and yes, I do love music and can sing, but my voice took a long vacation and isn’t ready to come home yet…

This is officially my first Medium post. (I promise you, my hands are not shaking 💀)

And if you’re seeing this, it means I sent fear packing, and after a million rethinks, I’ve finally embarked on this scary, yet beautiful journey.

For the time being, let’s get to know me a little, just to give a little context to the pieces that should follow this.

• I love movies, tv shows, anime and K-dramas as well. If you don’t like K-dramas, that’s your loss. 🫣 (Just kidding. It’s okay if it’s not your thing.)
• I’m a gamer and I’ve been gaming since 2019 ish, though not consistently enough to become a professional gamer 🥲.
• I love reading; literally anything. This year I successfully read a total of 23 books, I believe. That is little, I know, but in my defence, life wasn’t so good to me during the first half of the year…

You know a few of my interests, now about me!

• I am a proud and believing Christian, filled with the Holy Spirit.
• Purple is my favourite colour and I have no reason why…
• I took a gap year after graduation in 2022 while most of my friends went into the university. I surprisingly didn’t feel any pressure then and had no regrets. Looking back, it’s definitely one of the best decisions I’ve made in my entire life. But, it’s coming to an end because I start Uni in a few weeks. It is well…
• New phases scare me. I mean, I’m sure it’s the same with most people but it doesn’t make it less terrifying for me.
• I’m that lactose intolerant person who’d take the things that would definitely make me miserable, but pray nature favours me at the end. But don’t let this deceive you, I’m far from daring!
• I overthink a lot. This piece is a perfect example of that. Before starting this piece, I had to consult God, my mentors, close friends and family and I definitely needed all the reassurances I got!

I honestly don’t know how this journey’s gonna go and I sincerely pray that as this is my first article here, it won’t be my last 🤲🏽.

With that, I look forward to the growth I’m going to experience in the course of this journey and I equally look forward to building this beautiful community!

Better to fail than to have never tried. It can only get better from here ❤️
